The aim of this module is: 

*To empower the students with a deep understanding of the principles and techniques for the diagnosis of blood and tissue parasites and intestinal parasite of medical importance.

*To equip the students with the control methods of diseases caused by these parasites.

The module is divided into 7 topics:
1. Introduction
2. Class Nematoda: Intestinal Nematodes
3. Class Nematoda: Tissue Nematodes
4. Class Cestoda
5. Class Trematoda: Intestinal Flukes
6. Class Trematoda: Blood Flukes
7.Class Trematoda: Lung & Liver Flukes

At the end of this module students should be able to:

*Discuss in details the classification of medically important parasites.
*Explain some important characteristics of parasites
*Explain the difference between the Cestodes, Trematodes and Nematodes.
*Discuss the Morphology, Life cycle, Pathology/Pathogenesis, Epidemiology of Helminthes
*Demonstrate competency to independently analyze all kinds of parasitological sample in the laboratory.
*Examine and microscopically identify blood, tissue parasites, and intestinal parasites.
